t is that time of the year again where everybody thinks they are a movie critic and know what movies deserve awards and which ones don’t. Seeing that we are in the spirit of the Oscars, I have decided to share my top 5 favourites, and top 5 worst movies of 2015.
Before we experience the good, we need to experience the bad. So this is going to be my top 5 worst movie list of 2015 (Note, in order for a movie to qualify for this list, I must have watched it. So there will be movies missing from this list because I knew they were shit to begin with when I saw their trailer or heard of them).
The list is just beginning and we are already on an Adam Sandler movie. Now before I ramble on about this movie, I should just let you all know I am was, and now and then am, an Adam Sandler fun. Yes, his humour is immature and crude, but for some weird reason I enjoy his movies.
Pixels had so many things that were promising; it had fantastic special effects, an interesting plot and concept, Peter Dinklage and so much more. So it is a downright pity that this movie was so bad. Apart from a lazy script, the humour was horrible and forced. I found myself bored halfway through a movie that was supposed to be exciting and funny.
In an age where most horror movies that come out are just poorly made found footage films, I was excited to see horror going back to its roots. But damn, what a snore fest this was. Firstly, this movie was lazy. Secondly, the characters sucked and were completely one dimension and the “scares” were predictable and poorly executed.
In my honest opinion, I want to quit on the horror genre, but then you get the rare gem like The Babadook that were so good that it makes you fall in love with the genre all over again. This was my hope for Poltergeist, and it failed worse than Donald Trump trying not to be racist.
3. Fantastic Four
We live in an age where every second movie that gets released seems to be a comic book movie. Now some of them are great while others are okay, but at least they are all entertaining in some way; this is where Fantastic Four misses the ball completely.
This movie is drained from every emotion out there. It is lifeless and boring. Character development is clearly a concept not heard of when it comes to the writing, and the dialog is just so flat and life draining. If there is a film that has attempted to push people to commit suicide it is this film. I felt completely drained of emotion and energy after viewing this movie. The pacing in this movie is also extremely off. This was a complete mess. Hopefully, it won’t get a sequel.
2. The Cobbler
I am going to be honest here; I did not watch this movie finished. I didn’t because I really didn’t want to waste my time on something I was not enjoying at all. This is also the second Adam Sandler movie on this list, so enough said there.
Once again, this was a movie with an interesting and magical idea that could have worked brilliantly if it were placed in the right hands, but it was placed in the hands of Adam Sandler and therefore it sucked harder than a prostitute trying to please her pimp. It was completely boring, and just like Fantastic Four, seem to be devoid of any emotion. The most tragic part of this movie is that it made me hate myself. I had the joy of completely forgetting about this stinking pile of horse shit until I started this list, and now I remember it. Great job Xander, great fucking job.
1.The Ridiculous 6
It is a tragedy that movie studios give Adam Sandler the money to produce the shit he has in the last couple of years, and now it is even more tragic that Netflix did the same.
Netflix, a streaming service has been known for creating high quality original content that is usually highly praised and loved, but this was clearly their first flop. In fact, Netflix is so ashamed of this steaming pile of shit hat they tried to remove all existence of it.
This movie was Adam Sandler’s attempt at a western. I generally don’t like westerns, but now and then you find one that is genuinely enjoyable. This was far from being enjoyable. This movie is a crime, and Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, Taylor Lautner (yes, the werewolf guy from Twilight) should get arrested and tried for not only creating this crime against cinema, but to humanity too. This movie tried too hard to be funny, and the jokes were forced. The story was predictable and lacked anything interesting, and it was somewhat racist. Sometimes, a person comes across a movie that was so bad it was good, this was so bad that I wanted to travel to Liberia and contract Ebola. I would rather suffer and die from Ebola than endure the pain this movie gave me.
So those are my picks for the worst movies I saw that came out in 2015. I recommend that you avoid these like that creepy old man or lady that keeps staring at you every time you go outside, because these movies will make you give up all hope in humanity and possibly lead to suicide.
